1989 Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro Doka Jadgwagen
Voted “Best Syncro Doka” at Syncrofest 2024
A handful (12 to be exact) of the already rare Syncro Doka were produced as Jagdwagens. The German name roughly translates to “Hunt Vehicle”. It was the idea of a VW executive who wanted to create a robust version of the Syncro tailored towards hunting, after being disappointed using Land Rovers on a friend’s estate.
From the factory, Jadgwagens were equipped with a variety of extremely rare and unique options: front and rear locking differentials, sunroof, refrigerator, Schaemueler winch, a bullbar, rollbar, exterior roll cage, bars on the dropgates, gun rack in the cabin, two seperate seats at the rear, gun drawer in the storage compartment under the bed, sliding windows at the rear, spare wheel carrier behind the cabin, and more..
This specific Jadgwagen belonged to VW. It spent the first decade of its life in Germany traveling from dealership to dealership, to showcase its impressive list of high end factory options. By the time it had arrived for it’s restoration 34 years later it was beginning to seriously show it’s age:
